Re: how about some bacon
is $12.50 the best price you found for precooked canned bacon?
Seems like yoders bacon is the same product and has some horrible writeups online. Anyone ever try it? |

Here is bacon on sale good through Monday: Free Shipping on 2 Cases of Yoder's Bacon while supplies last You are receiving this email from MREdepot.com because you purchased a product/service through eBay (userID; scyros35) or through our website or subscribed on our website. To ensure that you continue to receive emails from us, add scyros@mrewholesalers.com to your address book today. Two Cases of Bacon 15% off PLUS Free Shipping this week! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Hi All; Well, last week was interesting with all the breaking news from Mexico and the U.S. (now in 36 US States and 21 Countries as I write this) - we were overwhelmed with orders (and concern) to say the least. I saw all kinds of e-mails from merchants with masks and hand sanitizers being pushed (and all sorts of scare tactics as well unfortunately), but I guess that is par for the course in our industry and how some companies choose to sell their product. Hopefully now that the hype has subsided, we can get to some real news on the subject and see if anything will come from it that we should actually be worried about (or if we dodged a microbial bullet ;-). Meanwhile, now that things are getting back to a somewhat normal level, I have another free shipping special for you since we are back up to a decent level of stock on the Yoder's Canned Bacon for the first time in probably 5 months. Purchase two cases, and we'll give you 15% off AND free shipping. See the below Promotional Code for more details. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ 2 Cases, Yoder's Canned Bacon Purchase 2 Cases and get Free Shipping! 10 to 15 year Shelf Life! Offer Expires: May 11, 2009 Here's the direct link to the free shipping bacon: http://www.mredepot.com/servlet/the-...d-Bacon/Detail Be sure to use the discount code at checkout too. ---------------------------------------------------------------- The bacon is good stuff! I have read some "mixed" reviews of the other meat products. I have had nothing but great service from these folks. I ordered some off this current sale on Friday morning, email back in my box for receipt of the order before I got there. Another email about two hours later saying it had been shipped and the tracking number. Last order I received had one can with a shipping ding in it. I had an immediate verbal OK upon giving them a call and an email confirmation with tracking number for TWO replacement cans within a few hours. Hope this helps! |
Re: how about some bacon
I watched the video. He is correct, the guy that commisioned the canning of the bacon is the vendor that I gave the link to you for. If the young man had opened both ends, he could have pushed the bacon out of the can very easily. It does have some grease in the can, but you have to think about the amount of grease that would have come off 3 pounds of uncooked bacon.
In the ad on the CMMG link it says the can is aluminum, I think they are steel cans, they do have a lining, you can see that in the video. There are many other videos of the canned bacon out there too. Moral of the story is, Warm this stuff up and you will be happy! |

For our everyday bacon, we love the Hormel fully-cooked stuff from Costco. 45 seconds in the microwave & it's perfect! Learned about it from a cooking site; you figure cost based on servings, not weight; so it's actually cheaper to buy bacon this way vs. a pound of uncooked stuff. And majorly less messy. FWIW. MMmmmm, bacon! |

I take pride in cooking my own bacon. So much, in fact, that I do it without wearing a shirt. The mess? Hell, making a mess is part of being a man! That's why every man needs a good woman. To clean up said mess! (Just kidding (or am I?)) I did purchase 3 cans of this stuff (if I like it, I'll buy more) just to have around. I'll try one and throw the other two in with the rest of the preps. |
Re: how about some bacon
Seems like yoders has a slew of canned meats. Anyone ever try any or buy their variety packs?

I have been eating quite a lot lately, as an experiment in low-carb eating. I get a fresh side and salt it a bit after frying, skipping the sugar entirely. I've noticed that the taste ranges a lot based on how thin you slice it. If you want to try eating 1-2+ lbs of the stuff a day, you can't get the grocery store bacon. There's way too much salt in it. -end- |
